Texas Rangers, Southwest Airlines Donate Entertainment Room to Cook Children’s Hospital

Southwest Airlines Employee Robert Champagne invited Texas Rangers Pitcher C. J. Wilson to challenge Guitar Hero III enthusiasts in a tournament benefiting Cook Children's Medical Center . Funds raised provided a new video game and entertainment room at the Hematology and Oncology Clinic, where Champagne 's son, Micah, is a patient. The event was held at Southwest Airlines Headquarters in Dallas .

Southwest Employees Answer Phones for KERA Pledge Drive

Thirty Southwest Airlines Employees, Finance Department, volunteered at Dallas public radio and broadcast station KERA in December. The volunteers answered phones during two nights of a broadcasted pledge drive. Member contributions to KERA constitute more than 50 percent of the station’s annual operating budget.

Dallas Employee Monica O’Neill walked in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Breast Cancer 3-Day in honor and celebration of four inspiring breast cancer survivors, two of whom are very special to the Southwest family. Monica raised $3,600 to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Research.
