| TITLE: | Vice President, Director of Operations for Southwest Airlines Company |
| JOB DESCRIPTION: | Greg is responsible for directing operations to ensure that flights are operated safely and in compliance with regulations. His primary focus is the Operations Coordination Center (OCC) and regulatory compliance and coordination with the FAA. |
| LENGTH OF SERVICE AT SOUTHWEST: | Started January 1979. |
| EXPERIENCE: | Greg began his career in the United States Air Force as a C-130 instructor pilot. At Southwest, Greg has been a Captain, Check Airman, DAL Chief Pilot, the System Chief Pilot, Director of Flight Operations, and Vice President of Flight Operations. Greg holds an ATP with type ratings in the B737 and L382. During his tour in the USAF, he was also a Flight Operations Duty Controller
in the Military Airlift Command Center at Scott AFB, Illinois. In this
capacity, he was responsible for the worldwide Command and Control of
Tactical Airlift C-130s. |
| EDUCATION: | Greg earned a B.A. in business administration from the University of Oklahoma. He has completed graduate studies in management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. |
| FAMILY: | Greg has five wonderful children: Matt, Andy, Brooke, Will, and CeCe. He is also the proud grandfather of Ainslee Caroline and proud father-in-law of Ainslee and Andrea. He is very happily married to his beautiful wife, Michelle. |
| FIRST PAYING JOB: | Working on a wooden screen door assembly line for $1.25 an hour in Oklahoma City. |
| PROUDEST MOMENT: | When I upgraded to Captain at Southwest. |
