TITLE:

Senior Vice President Administration and Chief People Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Jeff is responsible for all activities involved in bringing the right People into Southwest Airlines; giving all Employees the opportunity for personal and professional growth; and assuring quality and depth of Leadership throughout the Company and oversight of the Purchasing and Corporate Security Departments.
EXPERIENCE: Prior to joining Southwest, Jeff worked 12 years at Mesa Petroleum including Leadership roles in Human Resources. His last position with Mesa was as Vice President Administration. Jeff spent the next 7 years at Belo Corporation the majority as Vice President Administration, which included Human Resources, Corporate Security, Real Estate/Facilities, Risk Management, and Shared Services, before leaving Belo to work for Roger Staubach. Jeff assumed various roles in his 4 years with The Staubach Company including EVP Corporate Operations (HR, Technology, Finance, Risk Management, and Legal,) and was President of Staubach Lease Administration Company.
LENGTH OF SERVICE AT SOUTHWEST: Started in December 2004.
EDUCATION: Jeff completed his undergraduate work at West Texas State University - Canyon, Texas (now West Texas A&M) in 1986.
FAMILY: Jeff is married to Kim and they have 3 daughters.
FIRST PAYING JOB: “I shined shoes (50 cents per shine!) in the Tower Barber Shop - Amarillo, Texas the summer I turned 14.”
PROUDEST MOMENT: “I’ve been so blessed that it is difficult to pick just one, but Kim saying ‘yes’ when I proposed would have to be at the top.”
BEST ADVICE EVER RECEIVED: “Come early, stay late, work hard, stay physically fit, and you don’t have to cheat to win.”
