Q: What is the Fly By lane?
A: The Fly By lane is a priority security lane available to Business SelectTM Customers and Rapid Rewards® A-List Members. In most cases the Fly By lane will not have dedicated screening equipment, but it will allow the traveler to reach the screening process more quickly by having access to a separate security lane.
 
Q: Where are Fly By lanes currently available?
A:

Currently Fly By is available in the following airports:

  • Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)*
  • Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL)
  • Denver International Airport (DEN)**
  • Houston Hobby Airport (HOU)*
  • Dulles International Airport (IAD)**
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • Metropolitan Oakland International Airport (OAK)
  • Portland International Airport (PDX)**
  • Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)*
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
  • John Wayne Airport (SNA)**

* = Shared with the airline employee lane. When the Fly By lane is shared with the Crew Member lane, uniformed Crew Members are allowed to proceed to the front of the line.

** = Specific Fly By signage is not available. Look for the priority security lane for all airlines at the airport's security checkpoint.

Q: What credentials will I need to have to access the Fly By lane?
A: To enter the Fly By security lane you will need to show one of two credentials to the designated TSA screener:
  1. Rapid Rewards A-List Members will show their A-List identification card.
  2. Customers who purchased Business Select will show their boarding pass.
 
Q: Who is eligible to access the Fly By lane?
A: Business Select Customers and Rapid Rewards A-List Members will be the only Customers allowed to access the Fly By lane. Family members or others traveling with A-List or Business Select Customers are not allowed to "piggyback" with the Fly By-eligible Customer.
 
Q: How will I locate the Fly By lane?
A:

There will be directional signage at each security checkpoint that will guide you to the correct lane. Below is a sample of the sign:

Q: Does the Fly By lane allow me to bypass security screening?
A: No. The Fly By Lane only cuts down the time you spend waiting to be screened.
 
Q: Is there a fee to access the Fly By lane?
A: No. You may access the Fly By lane by purchasing a Business Select fare or earning Rapid Rewards' A-List Members status.
 
Q: If I don't have my A-List Membership Card with me while traveling, can I access the Fly By lane?
A: No. You must present your A-List Membership card to access the Fly By lane or have purchased a Business Select fare.
 
Q: If I purchased Business Select or I am an A-List Member do I have to access the Fly By lane to get through security?
A: No. You have the option to access the Fly By lane or any other available lane.
