Do flight credits expire?

Yes, Choice Extra, Choice Preferred, and Choice Transferable Flight Credits™ created from reservations booked and ticketed and/or changed on or after May 28, 2025 expire twelve months from the date the fare was purchased and ticketed. Basic fare flight credits expire six months from the date the fare was booked and ticketed.*

To receive a flight credit, you must cancel your flight at least 10 minutes prior to the flight’s original scheduled departure time. If you do not cancel, your points and funds may be forfeited. Choice Extra, Choice Preferred, and Basic Transferable Flight Credits™ created from reservations booked and ticketed and/or changed on or after May 28, 2025 expire twelve months from the date the fare was booked and ticketed. Basic fare flight credits expire six months from the date the fare was purchased and ticketed.

Can someone else use my flight credit?

Yes, with the cancellation of a Choice, Choice Preferred, and/or Choice Extra fare, Customers will receive a Transferable Flight Credit™ which may be transferred one time to another Rapid Rewards® member.

How do I book a flight with travel funds?

When booking a flight, you’ll see an option to apply travel funds on the payment screen. You can use a total of three forms of payment per booking, and each travel fund counts as a form of payment.
